So, if you're here, you're considering hiring a doula for your labor and birth.

There are different types of doulas: birth doulas and post-partum doulas.

Post-partum doulas come to your home after the baby is born and do chores, or take care of the children, and help you by doing what needs to be done while you focus on your new baby. And sometimes that can include taking care of the new little one while you walk around the block or take a shower!

A birth doula usually will have a few visits with you before the birth in addition to any meetings to get to know each other as you decide whether or not you will hire her. Then she is available to help you decide when is the right time to go to the hospital, or call the midwife, meeting you there, and staying with you throughout the labor and birth. Also, at least one post-natal visit is usually included.

I have had many years of experience attending births, as well as years of helping with resolution of unwelcome and unexpected birth experiences, birth trauma and parenting questions and support. My experience with children helps me to know how to support older siblings who are attending a birth, as well as help resolve sibling rivalry later on if it develops. My speciality in prenatal and perinatal psychology makes me an invaluable resource for you in order for you and your baby to develop a most-important bond, essential to providing a strong social and emotional foundation for your baby to begin this new life.

My education and experience has resulted in my unique offer of services for you.
