Oprah’s show: the secret language of babies (click here to comment)
Did anyone see Oprah's show on Monday, November 13?
What are some thoughts that you have about the language of babies, vocalizations that have defininte meanings?
I think it's incredible - and goes hand in hand with learning to listen to your baby and talk to them. Evidence that babies indeed have a sentient mind, can think and communicate!
I am very interested!!
Hi - I didnt see the show but I heard the promotions and immediately thought of you.
Congrats on the blog - this will be great to visit and leave comments, ask questions, etc.
Very cool!
I would like to know how to access the CD or DVD so I can share the amazing data.
Hi Marilyn,
Pricilla Dunstan’s website, where you can order the dvd from, is http://www.dunstanbaby.com, but I just tried it and it’s having trouble loading right now (increased traffic maybe?). I’ll put a link in the original post as well.
I’m glad you are intrigued and enthusiastic about this material…I am eager to learn more as well. Can you tell me what struck you the most? Do you have a baby yourself?
I finally saw the DVD!!
I think it’s amazing, what this woman has discovered and researched, and can be really helpful to parents.
I don’t think it says it all though. I have heard babies communicate about more than their basic needs (physical comfort; hunger; sleepiness; need to burp). That sound for comfort? I hear it when babies are expressing upset about a past experience.
I think, as helpful as Dunstan’s information is, it doesn’t go far enough into the realm of babies, and what babies know, and what they need to express to us.
It assumes that the here and now is all that a baby is aware of or cares about, and that’s just not true. There is much more.
